Hairstylist

Overview

To be well versed and an expert in the field of Cosmetology as described by the Laws of the State of Nevada. To deliver exceptional guest service to all guests of the Golden Nugget Spa and Salon and maintain a clean and healthful environment for delivering services according to the Policies, Procedures, and Protocols listed on our Menu of Services. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. - Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities

• Able to perform with current expertize Hairstyling, coloring, highlighting, perming, blow drying, cutting, shaping, shampooing, conditioning, roller sets, and client consultations.
• Be knowledgeable of all products used in Service Protocols and Sold in Retail to be able to make recommendations to clients.
• Must maintain awareness of current trends and fashions and be able to speak professionally and with authority about those trends.
• Be able to perform with mastery all of the services offered on our Menu of Services.
• Clean, stock, and maintain Salon Stations, Shampoo, and Dispensary areas.
• Maintain current licenses and continuing education requirements essential to job performance and Nevada State Licensing.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.
• Properly perform all Hair Services available to our guests in a professional and timely manner.
• Perform Hair Services as requested in alternate areas (i.e. guest rooms, poolside, etc.).
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.
  
  

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Ability to manage employees, training and coaching skills with evidence of developing exceptionally motivated teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
• Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required; Spa Soft experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years work experience
• 1 year of working or assisting in a Luxury Spa and Salon environment.
• Current License from Nevada State Board of Cosmetology.
• Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
• Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
• Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
