As an Assistant Manager Trainee, you’ll be hands-on in learning how to lead our team and support day-to-day retail operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a customer-facing environment, enjoys supporting others, and is eager to grow into a leadership position.
You’ll begin with focused training on our unique customer experience and shop culture. Once trained, you’ll step into more responsibility, from mentoring team members to ensuring smooth operations on busy weekends.
Responsibilities
- Deliver warm, personalized customer service that creates memorable shopping experiences
- Support and motivate team members on shift to maintain high service standards
- Assist with opening/closing duties, cash handling, and daily operations
- Help maintain store appearance, merchandising, and product organization
- Contribute to goals through thoughtful customer engagement (personable, never pushy)
- Take initiative in problem-solving and supporting leadership with projects
- Step into leadership responsibilities during manager absence
Required Qualifications
- Weekend availability (non-negotiable)
- Previous retail experience (minimum 1 year)
- Confidence in customer-facing situations
- Demonstrated reliability, maturity, and professionalism
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt in a busy, small-business environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership or shift lead experience in retail or hospitality
- Experience mentoring or training team members
- Passion for self-care, gifting, or artisan products
Compensation & Benefits
- Training wage: $15–16/hour
- Post-training wage: $17–18/hour
