Job purpose
The Facility Manager will oversee a unique combination of cannabis craftsmanship of the highest degree, modern innovation, passionate culture and workforce, teamwork, accountability, and the best-practices of efficient production processes. The Cultivation Facility Manager is responsible for managing the cultivation tech teams in support of the vegetative and flower cannabis production. The objectives of this position are to: Maximize flower yield and quality, provide a safe and efficient working environment, and foster a positive work environment and culture that is constantly striving for excellence.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Establishing and maintaining a healthy, highly motivated, productive, and rewarding culture, while always striving for excellence in all aspects of flower production.
2. Planting, movement, pruning, shaping, harvesting, and cleaning of crops in the vegetative and flower stages of production, consistent with the company’s production SOP’s. This includes:
o Transplanting
o Crop movement
o Trellis, branch training, pruning, and defoliating
o Harvesting
3. Ensuring that the crop schedule and company’s growing protocols and best practices are carefully followed.
4. Responsible for the safety of all personnel working in the production areas.
5. Maintaining the facility at a high level of cleanliness.
6. This position reports to the Director of Cultivation and makes certain that the DOC is made aware of any issues that may adversely impact our people, our crops, or our company.
7. The Cultivation Facility Manager will coordinate with the IPM Manager and all other managers on-site to ensure efficient operation of the Cultivation.
8. The Cultivation Facility Manager will monitor environments daily, ensuring all variables remain within acceptable ranges. This includes but is not limited to: checking Trolmaster readings and data, performing physical environment checks in rooms, monitoring equipment to ensure proper function, reporting leaks and faulty equipment to Maintenance, and generally ensuring rooms are holding at appropriate environmental setpoints.
Competencies
1. A bachelor’s degree with emphasis in agricultural studies or a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in the Cannabis industry, including working with chemicals and fertilizer applications. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted that provides the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
2. Cannabis, greenhouse, floral or vegetable crop experience required.
3. Have a trained cultivator’s eye and when procedures aren’t being executed properly, make necessary corrections.
4. Awareness and understanding of harvest schedule and proficiency at all task in relations to cultivation.
5. Prepares and uses computer spreadsheets, word processing systems and electronic communications (MSOffice based).
6. Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through skills.
7. Strong communication skills and strong attention to detail.
8. Willingness to teach/train production associates.
9. Ability to problem-solve and take initiative.
10. Ability to collaborate with the production teams effectively.
11. Skilled in general computer operating systems and applications.
12. Good analytical and critical thinking skills, with ability to make effective decisions.
13. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast-paced environment.
14. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
