What you'll do
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in critical care, emergency medicine, and long-term care settings.
- Perform procedures such as IV insertion, suturing, and catheterization with precision and care.
- Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and post-care instructions.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility standards.
- Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions, employing critical thinking skills in acute situations.
- Participate in discharge planning and case management to facilitate smooth transitions for patients.
Basic qualifications
- Valid nursing license with the ability to practice in the designated area.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Proficiency in acute pain management, trauma medicine, or hospice & palliative care.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
- Background in geriatrics or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable.
