Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front-office administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in to treatment. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical environment. You will be the first point of contact for patients and play a crucial role in maintaining efficient clinic operations. Prior experience in medical office management, patient service, and clinical procedures is highly valued.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient intake processes
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate follow-up visits using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation; document accurately in medical records
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray preparation, and basic life support procedures
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including ICD coding and detailed notes on patient encounters
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring all patient data is current and compliant with privacy regulations
- Support medical office management by organizing files, processing billing and coding information, and handling administrative correspondence
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries, explaining procedures, and ensuring a comfortable environment for all patients
Experience
- Proven medical office experience with familiarity in outpatient settings such as family medicine, internal medicine, or urgent care clinics
- Hands-on clinical experience including vital signs collection, phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic anatomy and physiology knowledge.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding practices, and medical documentation standards
