Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Transport supplies from the storeroom and stock in designated areas. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
- Meet with Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance
- Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment and supplies. Ensure everything complies with standards
- Prepare all meals following recipes and yield guides, according to department standards.
- Inform the Sous Chef of any shortages before the item runs out
- Monitor quality and quantity of mis en place and correct accordingly
- Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and hotel requirements
- Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
- Transport empty, dirty pots and pans to the designated area
- Breakdown work station and complete closing duties according to department standards
- Review status of work and follow-up actions required with the Sous Chef before leaving
- Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
- Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Prep Cook at a hotel restaurant or institutional kitchen preferred
- Ability to expand and condense recipes
- Ability to Compute basic mathematical calculations
- Working knowledge of American Standard Weights and Measures
- Proven experience providing high level of guest service
- At least 18 Years of Age
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
- Verify right to work in the United States
- Food Handlers Card
- Regularly push/pull up to 75lbs.
- Regularly lift and/or carry up to lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels
