Job summary
Under general supervision of the Branch Manager, the Branch Operations Manager manages and directs the daily activities of the mortgage operations. The Branch Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. This position oversees all lending functions, which may include funding, processing, and closing of residential loans. This position ensures efficient delivery of products and services to clients, develops and implements policies and procedures and has extensive knowledge of departmental and branch operations processes.
Essential job functions
- Manage daily team activities related to residential loan production and processing activities; ensure proper documentation, timely and accurate execution and effective resource allocation. Direct team in executing complex transactions, project management and the resolution of business problems.
- Coordinate and administer assignments, monitor team progress, and maintain schedules. Develop team members and provide ongoing professional guidance and direction. Creating a clear workflow operation for Loan Openers, Loan Originators, and Processors to adhere to.
- Responsible for hiring, training, coaching and corrective measures for branch operations team.
- Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met as well as standards are understood by the staff in order to prevent delays and other issues with loan originations and products.
- Provide training and guidance to employees related to disclosures, use of internal company systems, and branch logistics and procedures.
- Resolve issues related to loan files, as well review and approve loan files and supporting documentation for completeness.
- Identify and stay current on changes in the mortgage industry regulations, and recommend changes to internal policies, procedures, policies, and systems to incorporate new or updated requirements.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Minimum requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years Team Lead or Supervisory experience in an operations role. Mortgage experience preferred.

- Knowledge of residential government loan product regulations and investor underwriting guidelines.
- Operational knowledge of residential lending, including production and support functions.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Compensation Disclosure
This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. The base salary range for this role is $78,000 to $96,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation, in accordance with California labor law. Additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, may be available based on performance and business needs.
At-Will Employment
This position is classified as at-will employment in accordance with California law. Employment may be terminated by either the employer or employee at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law.
Work Location
This position is primarily based in our office located at 3625 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Ste 258. Regular in-office attendance is required during standard business hours.
