We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Long-term Part-Time After-School Tutor for Elementary Education to join our team. You will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students.

We Are Looking For:
An enthusiastic and dedicated tutor who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners. Your role will involve working closely with students in grades k-6, helping them with homework, reinforcing concepts taught in school, and developing essential skills in
ELA tutoring: Vocabulary Building/ Spelling/ Phonics/ Reading Comprehension/ Writing Skills/ Grammar
Math tutoring: Vocabulary/ Word Problem/ Concepts & Facts
Language tutoring: Spanish (Optional)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide small group tutoring sessions.
- Assist with school assignments.
- Develop engaging educational activities and materials.
- Monitor and report on students' progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents and teachers about students' needs and achievements.
Your Role Will Involve:
Student Engagement:
- Engaging students in homework assistance and personalized tutoring.
- Striving to provide a balanced mix of academic support and enrichment activities to foster a well-rounded learning experience.
Curriculum Development:
- Developing a specific curriculum, involving daily activity planning, lesson plan creation, and preparation of necessary materials and resources.
Classroom Management:
- Supervising students to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
- Implementing classroom rules and managing behavioral issues effectively.
Communication:
- Acting as a crucial link between the regular school day and our after-school program.
- Regularly communicating with parents and guardians about students' progress, concerns, and special needs.
Administrative Duties:
- Performing tasks such as taking attendance, tracking student progress, preparing reports, and coordinating with staff for special events or activities.
Safety and Welfare:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, adhering to safety protocols, administering first aid, and handling emergencies as needed.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in tutoring or teaching elementary-aged students.
- Strong understanding of elementary education curriculum and teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Commitment to educational excellence.
- 12 core semester units early childhood education/development OR A degree in child development OR 4 years teaching experience in a supervised group Child Care Center (Optional)
