The Medical Billier/Coder will process and follow up on billing, review remittance advice forms to verify proper reimbursement, collections, recoupment, and adjust, as necessary. This position will be at our Bowie location.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Verifies correct coding to ensure prompt payment.
- Inputs correct billing information and transmit it electronically to the carrier.
- Attends training to keep abreast of changes in billing procedures.
- Reviewing denied claims and correcting/appealing, as necessary.
- AR and Charge posting.
- Properly draft appeal letters or complete online appeals/corrected claims.
- Meet company deadlines.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have verbal communication skills and hearing ability to discuss billing with medical staff, patients, and Medicaid staff.
- Must have experience with EMR systems.
- Be Familiar with all aspects of a billing office.
- Attention to detail.
- Organized
- Self-Starter/ Able to work with little to no supervision.
Education and Experience:
- Two years of experience in clerical/office support work and/or education at the high school or post-high school level in English, spelling, keyboarding, computers, business, or office practices.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
