Golden Crest Nursing Centre – Skilled Nursing Facility
Golden Crest Nursing Centre is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and enthusiastic Part-Time Recreation Aide to join our Activities Department. If you enjoy working with older adults and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents, we’d love to meet you!
As a Recreation Aide, you’ll help create engaging activities that promote socialization, independence, and an enhanced quality of life for our residents.
Schedule
- Part-Time
- Weekdays and Every Other Weekend
- 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging recreational activities that reflect residents’ individual interests and abilities.
- Provide one-on-one and group activities throughout the facility.
- Encourage resident participation while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being.
- Set up and clean up activity areas and obtain supplies as needed.
- Accurately document resident attendance and participation.
- Escort residents safely to and from activities.
- Work independently while collaborating with the Activities team and other departments.
- Follow all facility policies and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
- A positive attitude, creativity, and enthusiasm are essential.
- Previous experience working with seniors in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living setting is preferred.
- Experience working with residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
