Job description:
The role of a caregiver at Golden Care is to provide high-quality, non-medical care and support services to clients, delivering care with professionalism, empathy, compassion, kindness, and in a respectful manner. Some caregiver duties include, but not limited to;
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Providing clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia or related behaviors (i.e., wandering, paranoia) a safe and secure environment by monitoring their health and safety, as it is a priority.
- Assist clients with all their ADL’s (Activates of Daily Living) in accordance with individualized care plans (i.e., personal hygiene assistance—oral care, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, bathing, dressing, etc.)
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean-living environment.
- Meal preparation and assist with feeding if needed.
- Transferring & Ambulation—provide safety, stability and support while client is mobile and during transfers.
- Transportation (i.e., appointments, grocery shopping, errands, outings, etc.)
- MUST have at least 3 months experience working as a caregiver;
- MUST be, or willing to register as a California Home Care Aide (HCA);
- MUST be able to clear a criminal background check by the DOJ/FBI;
- MUST have a current Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test (or willingness to complete one);
- MUST obtain a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle;
- MUST be 18 years of age or older;
- MUST be able to provide 2 forms of ID such as a Driver's license, social security, Passport, and or Birth certificate;
- Follow clients’ provided plan of care, safety precautions and procedures.
- Monitor, observe and report suspected concerns or change of clients' condition or health status to a supervisor or the appropriate parties immediately.
- Communicate effectively and respond to all forms of communication from the office in a timely manner.
- MUST be reliable, dependable, and be on-time.
- MUST dress professionally.
- MUST be kind, empathetic, compassionate, respectful, have a positive attitude and great work ethics.
- MUST have a passion and the desire to help others improve their quality of life, while maintaining clients' self-respect, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
- MUST be comfortable using a smartphone for basic communication and care documentation.
- Paid training (paid at minimum wage).
- Bi-weekly pay.
- Flexible schedule (4-to-15-hour shifts. day, evening, overnight, weekend shifts available).
