Summary
We’re looking for a reliable, safety-minded Overnight Team Member to run the store during the graveyard shift (10 PM–6 AM). You’ll keep the store clean and stocked, serve guests quickly and kindly, handle cash with accuracy, and maintain a secure environment overnight.
Schedule
- Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (overnight)
- Status: Full-time or Part-time
- Weekends/Holidays: Required on a rotating basis
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Guest Service
- Greet every guest; take orders; process payments (cash, credit, EBT where applicable) with 100% accuracy.
- Prepare fresh coffee/roller grill/foodservice items per recipes and holding times; maintain condiment bars.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally; escalate safety or policy issues to the on-duty lead/manager.
Store Operations
- Execute nightly cleaning checklist: restrooms, sales floor, counters, coffee area, coolers, roller grill, and foodservice equipment.
- Conduct indoor/outdoor maintenance: sweep/mop, wipe surfaces, empty trash, clean parking lot, pump areas, and windshield stations.
- Replenish merchandise, cooler and fountain stock; rotate using FIFO; set/verify shelf tags and promotional signage.
- Receive and verify overnight deliveries (as scheduled); check dates/temperatures; sign and file invoices.
Compliance & Safety
- Verify IDs for age-restricted sales (alcohol/tobacco/lottery) and follow all state/local laws and company policies.
- Complete temperature logs, sanitation logs, and equipment checks (coolers/freezers/hot hold).
- Monitor fuel pumps/forecourt; report spills or hazards immediately; follow emergency procedures.
- Maintain loss-prevention standards: accurate till counts, safe drops, voids/returns per policy, and incident reports.
- Keep doors secured as required; monitor cameras; limit back-room access; follow robbery-deterrence best practices.
Cash & Reporting
- Open/close tills; balance drawer; perform safe drops; complete nightly reports and email/submit as directed.
- Troubleshoot basic POS/pump errors and contact support according to the escalation sheet.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)
Preferred
- Convenience, grocery, fuel, QSR, or retail experience.
- Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe or local equivalent).
- Responsible beverage/vendor training (RBV/TABC or local equivalent).
- Lottery sales experience and fuel/forecourt familiarity.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years of age or older (per state law).
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand/walk 8 hours; lift, push, and pull up to 40–50 lbs, bend, reach, and work in cold coolers/freezers
- Basic math and computer/POS system skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
