Position Summary
As a PRN CNA, you will support the nursing team by providing direct hands-on care to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role is perfect for a caring individual who enjoys flexible scheduling and is committed to resident wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring/mobility, and feeding.
- Monitor and record residents' vital signs and condition, reporting changes to the nursing supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents (e.g., beds made, rooms tidy, supplies stocked).
- Support residents in recreational and social activities as needed.
- Follow care plans and instructions from nurses, ensuring residents' specific needs are met.
- Adhere to infection control, safety procedures, and facility policies.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and staff.
- Flexibly cover shifts as needed; fill in for call-outs, staff shortages, or peak census times.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification in the State of Louisiana.
- Minimum of 1 year CNA experience preferred in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents with mobility and positioning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently under direction and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and ability to arrive promptly for scheduled shifts.
- Flexibility to cover variable hours (nights, weekends, holidays) as needed.
- Must pass background check and comply with facility immunization requirements.
