Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Night Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the role of Charge Nurse, where you will lead and coordinate patient care during overnight shifts. As a Charge Nurse, you will serve as a clinical leader, mentor staff, and act as a primary point of contact for patient assessments and care planning. Your expertise will help create a safe, efficient, and engaging setting for both residents and team members, all while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents, including assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
• Lead overnight nursing staff by delegating tasks, supervising care delivery, and ensuring adherence to care plans.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate timely medical interventions and discharge planning.
• Manage emergency situations with confidence by implementing airway management, acute pain management, and critical response protocols.
• Document all patient interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining strict confidentiality policies.
• Oversee infection control practices and ensure compliance with long-term care regulations and HIPAA standards.
• Communicate effectively with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and team members to promote transparency and quality care.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure as an LPN or RN with current state certification; RN candidates must hold an active license with the ability to work night shifts.
• Demonstrated experience in long-term care, skilled nursing facilities, or hospital settings—preferably with geriatric populations.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-10 coding, and EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease), memory care needs, or behavioral health challenges.
• Proficiency in IV infusion techniques, catheterization, sterile processing, tube feeding management, and basic life support (BLS/CPR).
• Critical care experience such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center exposure is highly desirable; familiarity with emergency medicine protocols is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for caregiver interaction, patient assessment, triage procedures, and case management.
