PAY SCALE: $100,500.00 - $110,000.00 Annually
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior System Administrator is responsible for advanced level administration, maintenance, and support. Under minimal supervision, the scope of responsibility includes software and hardware installation, project coordination, performance control and complex system enhancement for Golden 1 systems. This job requires strong knowledge and experience dealing with implementation and issue resolution of Microsoft server platforms and desktop technologies from versions 20012 R2 to current (standard to enterprise), clustered and non-clustered systems, Veritas Net Backup, VMware ESXi servers, Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and storage platforms including enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
- Administration and maintenance of virtual and physical servers
- Independently research solutions and actively partner with business groups to proactively move work efforts to completion
- Configuring, and Administering of Windows, VMWare ESXi, Citrix XenApp Presentation Server operating systems
- Detect, diagnose and resolve or escalate system issues arising within the system architecture including server hardware, Windows, VMWare ESXi, vCenter operating systems, as well as commercial off the shelf and vendor applications
- Monitor and report system security, performance and events utilizing system monitoring tools.
- Maintain and support a High Availability environment through virtualization and redundancy, following best practices according to the systems in the environment
- Prepare, deliver and maintain documentation relevant to systems utilized at Golden 1
- Provide technical guidance to Tier 2 and Tier 3 support teams
- Implement and document Corporate and Departmental Projects
- Ensures that server and related security standards are adhered to
- Follow and design ITSM processes to ensure continuous improvement of customer response in a timely manner
- Provide efficient and accurate service while meeting strict deadlines. Some work will be accomplished within a short span of time
- Participate in the "on-call" rotation
- Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position through compliance training
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Effective oral and written communication skills required to interpret, resolve, and document networking problems
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate applicable computer hardware, a variety of hand tools and standard office equipment
- Must be willing to proactively remove roadblocks through identifying risks and partnering with business groups

- EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or comparable discipline or equivalent work experience.
- EXPERIENCE:
- Five to seven years’ experience as a System Administrator in an enterprise domain environment
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of Windows Server 20012 R2/2016 in an enterprise domain environment
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of AD group policies
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of vSphere system administration and support including VMotion, HA, DRS, vCenter Host Profiles, resource pools, Storage, and P2V migrations
- Working experience with PowerShell and scripting processes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged sitting throughout the workday to accomplish tasks
- Occasional travel may be required
- Lift and carry communications equipment and computer hardware weighing up to fifty pounds
- Corrected vision in the normal range required to configure, test, and troubleshoot network server hardware and data
- Hearing within normal range
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate applicable computer hardware, a variety of hand tools and standard office equipment
- May work additional work hours to accomplish tasks
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License is required
- Current Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
