POSITION AND PURPOSE |
The Senior Vice President (SVP) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving strategic initiatives, overseeing major business functions, and ensuring alignment with the organization’s overall mission and goals. The SVP provides visionary leadership, operational oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver sustainable growth and organizational excellence.
The Senior Vice President – Lending is responsible for the strategic direction, performance, and operational excellence of Golden 1 Credit Union’s commercial, mortgage and consumer lending originations. This role oversees the development, execution, and continuous improvement of lending strategies that deliver an exceptional member experience, strong financial results, safeguard asset quality, and provide members with accessible, competitive lending solutions. The SVP ensures lending programs remain compliant, innovative, efficient, and responsive to the evolving needs of current and prospective members.
You deliver lending products and services that consistently meet or exceed member expectations while ensuring the safety, soundness, and profitability of Golden 1 Credit Union. You lead and strengthen lending operations to drive quality, growth, and long-term financial health.

THE WORK |
- Provide executive leadership for all commercial, mortgage, and consumer lending origination business units, ensuring they meet or exceed member service expectations, service level agreements, credit quality and other key performance indicators to ensure Golden 1 meets or exceeds its Strategic Goals.
- Ensure all members receive exceptional member lending experiences.
- Evaluate, design, and enhance lending products, delivery channels, member experience, and operational functions including lending underwriting, fulfillment.
- Ensure proper leadership, staffing, development, and performance management practices are in place to deliver high-quality lending experiences to our members.
- Maintain expert knowledge of state and federal regulations governing credit union lending, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and related compliance requirements.
- Proactively ensure lending practices, policies, and controls support regulatory compliance and risk mitigation, which includes ongoing analysis and refinement of loan policies to ensure clarity, relevance, and operational effectiveness.
- Represent Golden 1 in interactions with regulatory agencies, auditors, and industry partners.
- Foster a positive and engaging work environment for each team member by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, inspiring others through your words and actions, ensuring positive employee morale throughout Golden 1, and embracing our mission, vision and core values.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union’s risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS |
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline required.
EXPERIENCE: Ten (10) years of management experience with medium to large sized financial services institutions with an emphasis on commercial, mortgage, and consumer lending products. Five (5) years or more of financial institution experience with an emphasis in lending origination operations.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Knowledge regarding laws, rules, regulations, procedures impacting credit union lending and marketing activity, management, and consumer lending.
- Deep expertise in credit risk analysis, portfolio management, commercial/consumer loan underwriting, and knowledge of loan origination systems.
- A deep understanding of the company's market dynamics, competitive landscape, industry trends, and business functions.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and investment decision-making.
- Knowledge of change management, talent development, and performance optimization.
- Ability to inspire, align, and mobilize cross-functional teams toward shared goals.
- Capacity to anticipate market shifts, identify opportunities, and make data-informed decisions
- Drive transformation and adapt to evolving business environments.
- Ability to translate strategy into action to deliver measurable results

WORKING CONDITIONS |
Work time includes weekend and after-hours time, based on organizational needs. This position works in-office where working conditions, lighting, temperature, audio, and workspace are all sufficient.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate. Work may require the ability to move work-related supplies weighing up to 10-15 pounds.
