GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Analyst II provides analytical support to our business partners. You will work closely with credit union personnel and business partners to transform data into insights that improve and advance our products, services and/or business processes. Also, you will help guide strategic development with leadership by gathering, preparing, and analyzing information to identify trends, summarize patterns, and provide data driven recommendations.
This is a senior level analyst with Golden 1 Credit Union, and you will work with leadership or other analysts on highly complex analysis that impact corporate strategy using our data. As a thought leader in the analytics space, you will function as a subject matter and technical expert amongst the team and business partners. Projects will require the use of critical thinking and communication to complete, along with technical skills including SQL and PowerBI. An understanding of how to use SAS Enterprise Guide, R or Python for statistical work or data manipulation is also expected.

1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to assist other staff, share reports, coach staff, communicate clearly with management, and perform other related tasks
2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, and telephone
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:
1. INTERNAL: All levels of staff and management.
2. EXTERNAL: Vendors, other financial institutions, business partners and industry peers.
QUALIFICATIONS:1. EDUCATION:
1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.

4. Ability to lift 15 lbs. as may be required.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Preferred: Data Analytics Certification like: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), IBM Data Science Professional Certificate, Datacamp Analyst Certification, Microsoft Data Analyst Associate Certification, SQL Certification, or other graduate work in the fields of finance, business intelligence or data analytics.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
- Lead analytics projects, triage analytic tasks, and deploy scalable data and analytic solutions
- Partner with stakeholders such as product managers, data engineers, and analysts to design experiments and minimum viable products using business defined use-cases
- Create data stories from disparate and raw data sources that enable data driven decision making
- Mentor junior analysts on technical problem solving and analytics best practices
- Establish Business Intelligence best practices for the organization at scale
- Develop robust executive level data visualizations
- Proactively review business needs and suggest research projects that will add value to the Credit Union
- Manage required ad hoc report preparation, analysis, and presentation to management as reference for strategic decisions, committee review and other information requests
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
- Review and maintain an understanding of current and future economic landscape and internal and external influence
- Assist with signoff of reporting and analysis prior to release to the line of business
- Assist with the technical skill growth and business knowledge growth of junior analysts

QUALIFICATIONS:1. EDUCATION:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty (Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or similarly quantitative/analytical degrees). Equivalent work experience with required knowledge/skills may be substituted for degree.
- 11 years of business intelligence and analytical experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in data architecture, data warehousing, and business intelligence
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within credit union operations.
- Technical Skills
- Required-Expert knowledge in the following systems/applications:
- Microsoft Excel- Formulas, functions, pivot tables, dashboard creation, data connections and automation with macros
- Microsoft Office
- VBA Coding to support automation of tasks.
- Preferred-Expert knowledge in the following systems/applications:
- Microsoft Power BI - Building Visuals using existing Datasets, Power BI Desktop to build datasets and complex reporting and DAX Programming.
- SQL Programming - Select Statements, Joins, Aggregating Data, temp tables, and complex querying.
- SAS Enterprise Guide - Data Manipulation and transformation, data aggregation using the GUI tool, basic SAS programming.
