Summary:
Under the general direction of the Operations Support Manager, the Vendor Relations Associate will be responsible for implementing effective sourcing processes and completing vendor agreements. They will be responsible for updating vendor information on products, scheduling product training, and updating critical vendor data and be a centralized point of contact for vendor inquiries. The Associate will support relationship-building efforts with current suppliers and help identify potential new vendors in collaboration with senior staff.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Act as a company liaison for outside vendors and suppliers
- Attend trade shows and conferences as required to develop new vendor relations and strengthen existing one (Ability to travel required. Not to exceed 25% of total quarterly work time)
- Research new products and develop vendor agreements
- Assist in trade show schedules and coordinate meetings
- Assist in performance reviews with major vendors and appropriate internal stakeholders
- Maintain the preferred vendor list
- Participate in the negotiation of pricing, terms and conditions with vendors
- Maintain vendor files, price lists, dealer terms and conditions, and points of contact list
- Receive orders from vendors
- Identify data, insights, and market trends from vendors, competitors, and customers that could translate into new product ideas and enhancements
- Interface and effectively communicate with team members, staff, customers, subcontractors, vendors, business partners, and suppliers
- Support the negotiating and contracting processes with vendors and clients
- Obtain alternate sourcing options as needed
- Maintain inventory for all product samples in office
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Ability to work effectively with team members, cross-functional teams, and clients to provide marketing and recruitment services
- Skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Costpoint, and other associated programs
- Ability to perform detail-oriented work and problem solve
- Excellent time management and able to work on multiple projects at the same time
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational management or related field or equivalent
- 1 -2 years of experience in related fields or industry
- Ability to travel for industry events, meetings, training, and other opportunities
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting administrative or coordination functions in a corporate or professional setting preferred
