Summary:
The Configuration Management Specialist creates, maintains, updates equipment and material information across multiple information systems/ applications, and documentation to promote consistency and reliability of operational Naval equipment systems as a part of Lifecycle support efforts. This position works independently and as part of a high performing team of government and contractor personnel, with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in the establishment, maintenance and consistency of Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) functional, performance and physical attributes as part of the Configuration Management process and resolving real world/ real time material issues as part of the Logistics Support team.
- Establish, maintain, and update IUSS unit-level equipment configuration, and the attendant Allowance Parts Lists (APLs), Repairable Identification Codes (RICs), and Pseudo Repairable Identification Codes (XRICs) as applicable, within the Web Based IUSS Logistics Database (WILD).
- Research and recommend alternates and replacement items and cross reference in WILD once certified.
- Perform Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) and validations as directed by the ISEA.
- Whenever possible, develop revised configurations from official documentation in lieu of post installation Form 4790/CK. Conduct liaison with Configuration Data Managers Database – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) to prevent duplication of effort upon introduction of a new COTS item.
- Work as an integral member of a high performing team, collaborating, writing and communicating in English.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Intermediate skills with DoD Configuration Management systems such as APLs, RICs, XRICs, WILD, CDMD-OA, 4790-CKs.
- Knowledge of NAVSEA 4130.12 NAVSEA Configuration Management Policy.
- Familiar with applicable Information Systems, IT systems and devices and US Navy policy for IT/ Cyber Security.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team, including leading small project teams to complete assigned projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 (five) years of DoD Logistics/ Material Management experience, three (3) years of DoD Configuration Management experience, OR Associates Degree and one (1) year of DoD Configuration Management experience with High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must possess and maintain a SECRET Security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with US NAVY configuration management support as part of Life cycle or In Service Engineering Activity support, preferably with IUSS system/ components.
Prior USN or other service Military Configuration Management training and experience is highly desired.

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
