Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on MIG welding experience, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings, and a strong understanding of welding procedures and quality standards.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on steel and/or metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Set up and operate MIG welding equipment and related tools.
- Select and adjust appropriate welding settings, including voltage, wire speed, amperage, and gas flow.
- Properly position, align, fit, and weld components according to specifications.
- Inspect completed welds for proper appearance, penetration, strength, and overall quality.
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, squares, and gauges.
- Perform basic grinding, cutting, deburring, and other metal-finishing activities as needed.
- Identify welding defects and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Meet established production schedules and quality standards.
- Properly maintain welding equipment and report equipment problems to supervision.
- Complete required production and quality documentation.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in various positions.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to [Insert Weight] pounds.
