Gold Mech Inc. is looking for Pipefitters to join our team in Augusta, GA.
Job Summary
Pipe Fitters will assemble, layout, install and maintain pipe systems on steam, fluid or gas systems. The Pipe systems may include but not limited to: pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles. Pipe Fitters may work in all parts of the construction or maintenance site including in buildings, outside, and inside structures, i.e. tanks or units. The work may also include working in underground (excavations) areas and working at heights of excess of 300 ft.
Essential Duties
- Prepare, cut, grind, fit and install pipe to specifications.
- Install valves, hangars, supports, flanges inside piping system according to plans and applicable specifications.
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
- Identify all tools required for tasks.
- Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
- Perform test to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
- Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Required
4 years as a Pipefitter preferred
Trained and qualified to operate machinery such as scissor lifts, aerial lifts, fork lifts, etc.
Requires proficiency through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. May act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience. Completes work with a limited degree of supervision and regularly provides guidance to others.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour
