Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of food production areas, equipment, and machinery using appropriate cleaning techniques and chemical agents.
- Handle chemicals safely by following strict chemical handling safety procedures and wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when necessary.
- Conduct sanitation procedures in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards to prevent contamination.
- Use industrial cleaning tools and janitorial equipment effectively to maintain high hygiene standards across the facility.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to cleaning supplies or equipment to ensure efficient workflow while adhering to safety protocols.
- Document cleaning activities accurately, including chemical usage, sanitation logs, and safety checks.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently to ensure personal safety and the safety of team members during chemical handling and sanitation processes.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or industrial cleaning experience preferred, especially within food production or processing environments.
- Familiarity with chemical agents used in sanitation and industrial cleaning is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety regulations is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of routine cleaning tasks.
- Basic math skills for measuring chemicals and recording data accurately.
- Experience with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to respiratory protection guidelines.
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence, including chemical handling safety procedures in a commercial or industrial setting.
