EMR
This course is the first level of training within EMS, requiring at least 80 hours of course work in addition to clinical time. Our course it taught in just 3-weeks. Upon obtaining licensure as a Georgia EMT-R, you can begin a wonderful career in EMS.
EMT
This course is at the level necessary to provide basic level care to sick and injured patients during transport. With over 200 hours of initial training, EMTs are vital to the EMS workforce and have a long-standing history of being the true backbone of EMS.
AEMT
This advanced level course can be obtained after becoming an EMT. At this level, providers focus on advanced procedures such as IV and medication administration. Due to the length of this course, it is currently only offered to our current team members.
Eligibility
The following prerequisites apply:
- You must be 21 years old at completion of class. (You can be 18 and take the EMT Class.)
- Must have a High School Diploma or a GED.
- You can have no felonies. Misdemeanors are on a case-by-case basis. Background check will be conducted.
- You must pass a drug test.
- You must pass a physical agility exam to include lifting 125 lbs.
