About Us
Gold Country Animal Clinic is a low-cost, nonprofit spay/neuter clinic focused on increasing access to basic veterinary care for pets in our community. Along with our spay/neuter efforts, we also host wellness clinics, which provide preventive services including vaccines, microchipping, parasite prevention, and minor treatments in a compassionate, efficient, and judgment-free environment.
The Operations Manager oversees the daily administrative and operational functions of the clinic to ensure efficient, high-quality, and compassionate services. This position supports veterinary staff, manages front-desk and administrative workflows, coordinates volunteers, and ensures the clinic operates in alignment with its nonprofit mission of providing accessible veterinary care to the community.
The Operations Manager plays a key role in maintaining smooth clinic operations, improving client experience, and supporting fundraising and community outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily clinic operations including scheduling, client flow, and administrative processes
- Ensure efficient intake, discharge, and payment procedures
- Maintain clinic policies, procedures, and operational protocols
- Monitor clinic supply levels and coordinate ordering of medical and office supplies
- Ensure compliance with applicable veterinary, safety, and nonprofit regulations
- Supervise front desk volunteers, veterinary assistants, and wellness technicians
- Manage staff scheduling and coverage
- Support recruitment, training, scheduling, and coordination of volunteers
- Promote a positive, collaborative work environment focused on compassionate care
- Supervise front desk volunteers, veterinary assistants, and wellness technicians
- Ensure excellent customer service and respectful interactions with clients
- Help resolve client concerns or complaints
- Support clear communication regarding clinic services, pricing, and policies
- Track revenue, donations, and financial reports
- Assist with budgeting, expense monitoring, and cost control
- Support grant reporting or donor reporting as needed
- Maintain accurate records and operational documentation
- Assist with fundraising initiatives, sponsorships, and donor engagement
- Support community outreach and educational programs related to spay/neuter and preventative care
- Promote clinic services through social media and community partnerships
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Maintain confidentiality of client and patient records
- Support compliance with nonprofit governance and regulatory requirements
- 3 years of operations, management, or veterinary clinic experience preferred
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic, animal welfare organization, or nonprofit strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Employees must demonstrate a commitment to the mission of increasing access to affordable veterinary care and reducing pet overpopulation through spay and neuter services. This position has the potential to lead to a full time Executive Director position when funding allows.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
