General description summary:Deal Breaker: Bilingual English - Spanish. The QA Supervisor is a member of the facility Quality Assurance Department and gets functional direction from the Manager, Quality Assurance for Gold Coast Bakery. The QA Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and plans, coordinates, and directs the food safety, quality assurance programs at the facility level, which is designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established food safety and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (not in any priority):Ensures a safe work environment in the bakery by enforcing, educating, and coaching employees to follow Gold Coast Bakery and OSHA safety standards.Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures.Manages the staff of the QA functions and provides training on food safety, sanitation, product quality, and specifications, and interacts with regulatory agencies regarding conformance to requirements.Oversees all activities pertaining to product quality and compliance with product specifications.Oversees all activities pertaining to food safety and regulatory compliance.Monitor pest control procedures in bakery and ensures a pest/rodent free bakery. Discusses all pest control problems with their designated Pest Control Officer and the Quality Assurance Manager.Participates in GFSI audits and 3rd party audits.Initiates and performs Internal Audits, documents verification, and verifies Plant Inspections.Reports and collects all consumer comments, and reports trend analysis against company goals.Establishes and assures adherence to set specifications and standards of the finished productManages microprograms and reports trends, data, and information to the Food Safety Team.Monitor and assist QA technicians in daily tasks. Responsible for the accuracy of documentation generated by QA technicians.Call vendors and updates all raw material specifications, organic specification /certificates, and kosher certifications.Updates all product specifications as needed.Perform informal and formal training sessions as mandated by company and mission requirements.Maintains, verifies, and revises all QA on file and in company server.Supplies and maintains finished product nutritional data on file and in the company server.Checks and verifies nutritional facts panel, ingredient statement, die lines, UPC, net wt, and all attributes of artwork for bread bags.This position frequently is required to stand; walk, and use hands and fingers to feel materials or handle the equipment. This position is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.Assure all job assignments are performed safely and expediently and perform other duties as assigned by the QA Manager. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Minimum of five years of experience in Quality Assurance/Food Safety capacity.Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative, sense of urgency, and flexibility; assertive when necessary; work with minimum supervision.Previous experience with creating/ reviewing ingredient statements and NFP labels.Preferred Associate degree or higher.Previous experience with GFSI (BRC, SQF).Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, for quality and safety of food. (preferred).Shall be knowledgeable and experienced in general food safety programs and policies - includes government regulations, FDA, HACCP, GMP, and Allergen Programs.
