Gokoh Coldwater Incorporated (GCI) is an automotive manufacturing company located in Coldwater, Michigan. We specialize in producing high-quality sand cores used in the manufacturing of brake rotors for the automotive industry.

Our operation depends on quality at every stage of production. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our night-shift Quality team.

This is an active, hands-on position on the manufacturing floor. Quality Control Inspectors work directly with sand cores, inspecting parts for defects, packing acceptable product, completing required quality checks, and helping maintain a clean and organized work environment.

What You’ll Do

• Visually inspect sand cores for cracks, chips, damage, and other defects
• Determine whether cores meet established quality and customer requirements
• Separate and properly handle defective or nonconforming product
• Pack acceptable sand cores according to established packing requirements
• Perform required quality checks throughout the shift
• Monitor product quality and immediately communicate defects or recurring quality concerns
• Verify product quality following machine repairs, adjustments, die changes, or process changes
• Complete required inspection, scrap, and quality paperwork accurately
• Communicate with operators, team leaders, and Quality leadership
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and communicate important quality and production information
• Maintain clean and organized inspection and packing areas
• Perform daily cleaning of assigned Quality and production work areas
• Sweep, mop, blow down, remove debris, empty designated containers, and complete other assigned cleaning tasks
• Participate in end-of-shift and weekly cleaning as required
• Assist with other Quality and production-support responsibilities as needed

Attendance & Availability

Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position. Quality Inspectors provide direct coverage to production, and the team depends on each employee being present and ready to work as scheduled.

Employees are expected to:

• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance
• Report to work on time and be ready to begin at the start of the scheduled shift
• Work their full scheduled shift
• Be available to work daily and/or weekly overtime as required based on production needs

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This is an active, hands-on manufacturing position. Employees must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the job throughout the shift, including:

• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Frequent bending, reaching, and squatting
• Repetitive movements associated with inspecting, handling, and packing sand cores
• Pushing and pulling materials, carts, and totes
• Pushing or pulling totes weighing up to 80 lbs.
• Moving between production lines, packing areas, and inspection areas throughout the shift
• Performing daily cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping
• Working around manufacturing equipment, conveyors, forklifts, and other production activity
• Working in a hot, dusty industrial manufacturing environment
• Wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE)

What We’re Looking For

Previous Quality experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are looking for individuals who are dependable, willing to learn, and take pride in doing the job correctly.

Previous manufacturing or quality inspection experience is preferred, but not required.
