Unarmed Security Officer – Retail Patrol | Rockville/Gaithersburg, MD
GoJoe Patrol is hiring reliable, professional Unarmed Security Officers for commercial retail properties in the Rockville and Gaithersburg, Maryland area.
This position involves a combination of vehicle and foot patrols. Officers will maintain a visible security presence, interact professionally with tenants and customers, identify safety and security concerns, and accurately document patrol activity and incidents.
Schedule
- Part-time
- Coverage operates seven days per week
- Shifts will fall between approximately 12:00 PM and 9:00 PM, depending on assigned location
- Weekday and weekend availability is needed
- Exact schedules will be assigned based on site needs and employee availability
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols
- Patrol parking lots, storefronts, rear areas, and fire lanes
- Perform store and tenant check-ins
- Monitor for trespassing and loitering
- Identify and report vandalism or graffiti
- Address disruptive or suspicious behavior
- Monitor and report theft or security concerns
- Identify facility or safety issues
- Monitor parking and fire-lane violations
- Contact emergency services when appropriate
- Complete professional written incident reports
- Take photographs when required
- Document patrol activity accurately
- Communicate professionally with tenants, customers, property management, and GoJoe Patrol supervisors
Qualifications
- Must meet all Maryland requirements applicable to unarmed security personnel
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must successfully complete GoJoe Patrol's hiring and background-screening process
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Comfortable working independently
- Able to conduct routine walking patrols
- Able to write clear and accurate reports
- Able to interact professionally with tenants, customers, and the general public
- Ability to respond appropriately to security and emergency situations
- Weekend availability preferred
- A clean driving record is mandatory
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in security, loss prevention, military service, law enforcement, retail security, commercial-property security, customer service, or a similar position is preferred.
Experience completing incident reports or using electronic patrol/reporting systems is a plus.
