Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization protocols are followed.
- Take X-rays and 3D scans, accurately documenting findings.
- Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations while ensuring confidentiality of patient records.
- Support infection control protocols by adhering to OSHA standards and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless delivery of individualized orthodontic treatment for our patients.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a dental assistant in an orthodontic or general dentistry setting is a plus.
- Experience supporting chairside assisting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations while demonstrating professionalism and empathy at all times.
