We are seeking a driven, client-centered Pre-Litigation Associate to manage a dynamic portfolio of personal injury matters before cases enter litigation. The Pre-Litigation Associate plays a key role in evaluating claims, shaping resolution strategies, and negotiating favorable settlements. You will work closely with clients, insurance carriers, and internal legal teams to drive results, advocate effectively, and deliver an exceptional client experience—all while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage pre-litigation matters from intake through resolution.
- Analyze liability, damages, medical records, and supporting documentation.
- Develop case strategies, prepare demand packages, and monitor carrier responses.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the prelitigation process.
- Collaborate with insurance companies, legal team members and medical providers to achieve the best outcomes for client.
- Educate clients on procedures, timelines, and expectations.
- Address client concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing parties.
- Evaluate offers, advise clients, and prepare settlement agreements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, ethical standards, and firm policies.
- Maintain organized electronic case files and track deadlines.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Connecticut and in good standing.
- 3 years of experience in personal injury insurance defense or civil litigation required.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and legal research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
