Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented forklift operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be an essential part of the production process, ensuring that cotton fiber is safely processed from yard to press. Your hands-on skills and mechanical knowledge will contribute to maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced factory environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely transferring cotton fiber bales from staging barn onto process floor.
- Maintaining real-time records of ticket numbers associated with materials that are processed.
- Work hand-in-hand with fellow employees to open, process and package cotton fiber products.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to conduct repairs and maintenance during the course of production.
- Follow detailed work instructions and safety protocols to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of production lines, ensuring smooth workflow throughout production shifts.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals while adhering to safety standards and company policies.
Requirements
- Previous forklift and/or squeeze lift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Forklift driver certification is a plus but not absolutely necessary.
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
