This is a rare opportunity to join as our first HR Manager and play a key role in shaping the company’s people operations and culture.
Position Summary:
We’re seeking an HR Manager to build and lead our HR function from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have hospitality industry experience and the ability to design scalable systems for recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits, and employee development. Just as importantly, this person will help foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive workplace culture across all our locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build HR Infrastructure: Design and implement HR systems, policies, and procedures tailored to a multi-location hospitality business.
- Compliance & Administration: Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, particularly California employment law. Maintain accurate employee records and manage benefits administration.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead end-to-end recruitment for hourly and management roles. Create structured onboarding programs to support long-term employee success.
- Employee Relations & Support: Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers. Handle employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Culture & Engagement: Develop initiatives that enhance team morale, reinforce company values, and build strong, inclusive cultures across diverse restaurant environments.
- Training & Development: Launch employee development programs, performance review processes, and internal growth initiatives.
- Workforce Planning: Partner with restaurant leadership on staffing strategy and succession planning.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in hospitality, restaurant, or retail environments
- Strong knowledge of California labor and employment laws
- Demonstrated ability to build HR systems and processes in a scaling organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience managing multi-location teams is a plus
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus but not required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to leverage technology to scale HR operations
- Experience with HRMS (Human Resource Management Systems) and integration with restaurant POS systems
- Experience tracking business assets and equipment assigned to employees (e.g., manager computers, company vehicles, business cards, fringe benefits)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $90,000 ~ $120,000 annually, depending on experience

Pay: $89,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
