Responsibilities
- Assist with daily animal husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, and general care for livestock such as cattle, horses, or other farm animals
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and heavy equipment including tractors, loaders, and irrigation systems to ensure efficient land and crop management
- Perform equipment repairs, welding, and basic maintenance to keep tools and machinery in optimal condition
- Handle heavy lifting of supplies, feed bags, fencing materials, and other farm-related items safely and efficiently
- Use hand tools and power tools for fencing, building structures, or greenhouse setup and upkeep
- Support irrigation operations by setting up or repairing watering systems to promote healthy crop growth
- Supervise or assist with other team members in various tasks related to farming, horticulture, or animal handling as needed
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in agricultural or ranch settings with the ability to lead by example
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing farm machinery and equipment
- Extensive animal husbandry skills with a focus on animal care and handling techniques
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy machinery, and power tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of farming practices including irrigation systems, crop growing techniques, horticulture, and greenhouse management
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining safety standards
- Basic math skills for measurements, record keeping, and inventory management
- Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks within a team environment
