The Opportunity

Goehring & Rozencwajg (G&R) is a globally recognized, research-driven investment manager focused exclusively on natural resource equities. With $2 billion under management and a lean team of six, we offer a level of professional leverage and visibility unavailable at larger funds.

We are seeking a high-performing candidate with Investment Banking Analyst or similar experience, who is ready to move into a role with a direct path to firm partnership.

This role sits at the intersection of:

• Investment research
• Portfolio construction
• and operational leadership

The Role of Investment Research

Support Managing Partners in deep-dive supply/demand analysis of global commodity markets (Oil, Natural Gas, Precious Metals, Uranium, Copper and Ag); maintain proprietary valuation models and contribute to quarterly research.

Portfolio Analytics

Own the firm’s data infrastructure, including performance attribution, risk metrics, and portfolio construction analytics.

Investor Relations & Due Diligence

Serve as a technical point of contact for institutional investors, managing complex DDQs and explaining strategy mechanics to sophisticated allocators.

Trading & Execution

Manage daily trading activity and maintain executing broker relationships.

Business Management

Manage firm-wide financial reporting and expense management with a principal’s mindset.

Who You Are

Experience

1–3 years as an Analyst at a top-tier Investment Bank or high-intensity buy-side firm, or with a comparable skill-set.

Technical Capability

Highly "computer capable"—expert in Excel (VBA/Power Query) with a strong preference for proficiency in Python or SQL to automate data workflows.

Intellectual Orientation

A genuine interest in the "real economy" and a contrarian, value-oriented mindset; comfortable defending views that differ from the consensus.

Entrepreneurial Mindset

Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 per year.

This range represents the firm’s good-faith estimate of the base salary for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation within this range will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus and long-term incentive opportunities.
