Events Lead (Part-Time)
The Events Lead is the heartbeat of Godmothers' live programming—holding the room, the rhythm, and the guest experience when the Event Coordinator is not present. This role ensures that every event flows beautifully, feels intentional, and reflects the warmth and meaning that defines Godmothers.
Given a Run of Show, the Events Lead confidently manages live execution, guest experience, talent hospitality, and front-of-house operations—serving as the primary on-site lead for standard events and as a collaborative partner during sold-out or high-profile programs.

Core ResponsibilitiesEvent Leadership & Execution
- Serve as on-site Event Lead when the Event Coordinator is not present
- Execute and manage live flow of programming and manage staff
- Ensure smooth transitions between speakers, conversations, and audience engagement
- Introduce authors and speakers when needed
- Act as primary point of contact for talent and conversation partners, and vendors
- Coordinate start times, seating flow, and guest movement
- Troubleshoot in real time to maintain calm, graceful execution
- Float throughout events to ensure guest experience remains exceptional
- Support sold-out events in partnership with the Event Coordinator
Hospitality & Guest Experience
- Lead front-of-house hospitality: greeting, check-in, seating, and flow
- Create a warm, intentional atmosphere aligned with Godmothers' brand and mission
- Maintain clear communication between guests, talent, and staff
- Support green room readiness and light hospitality needs
- Prepare guest spaces so they feel organized, beautiful, and welcoming
Operations & Event Support
- Assist with event setup and breakdown
- Operate POS and ticketing systems during events
- Support book inventory coordination, pre-orders, pickups, and returns
- Assist with workshops, book clubs, founder events, Miramar and off-site programming
Growth Track: Community & Creative Engagement
As the role grows, the Events Lead may also:
- Represent Godmothers at off-site community and partner events
- Support university, business, and community partnerships
- Assist with creative programming development
- Support initiatives that grow attendance, participation, and brand presence
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of event, hospitality, retail, or community-facing experience
- Confident public speaking and professional guest presence
- Strong communication, organization, and independent problem-solving skills
- Friendly, calm, and service-oriented demeanor
- Comfortable standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, and navigating stairs
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Associate degree or equivalent preferred
