Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is a hands-on position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing and maintaining industrial production equipment. The primary focus is equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, breakdown response and minimizing production downtime. The position requires strong mechanical skills and practical electrical troubleshooting capability. Works within production schedules to complete repairs efficiently and supports Continuous Improvement activities related to equipment reliability, uptime and productivity. Represents Godfrey and Wing professionally at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots and repairs industrial equipment, including mechanical and electrical problems.
- Trains operators and other employees on basic equipment troubleshooting and appropriate escalation procedures.
- Supports basic PLC/HMI troubleshooting for equipment diagnostics; PLC programming is not required.
- Identifies opportunities to improve equipment reliability, uptime and productivity and supports Continuous Improvement actions.
- Adheres to safety guidelines including LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) protocol and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Diagnoses, tests and repairs electrical and electronic components such as motors, drives, sensors, switches and applicable wiring.
- Performs electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including 480V three-phase equipment, in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
- Responds to equipment breakdowns and performs timely corrective repairs to minimize production disruption.
- Reads and uses electrical schematics, equipment manuals and other technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repair.
- Troubleshoots pneumatic and hydraulic systems and makes equipment adjustments necessary to support safe, reliable operation and product quality.
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and documents repairs, PM activity and equipment conditions using established tracking systems.
- Identifies and orders appropriate spare parts and materials necessary for repairs and routine maintenance.
- Trains operators and other employees on basic equipment troubleshooting and appropriate escalation procedures.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred. Journeyman’s card/certification preferred.
Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical equipment preferred. Experience troubleshooting motors, sensors, drives, switches, electrical wiring, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and 480V three-phase equipment preferred. Basic understanding of PLC/HMI systems for equipment troubleshooting is preferred; PLC programming experience is not required. Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot industrial machinery is required. Siemens experience and special machine start-up/run-off experience are preferred, not required

Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. It can be hot and humid during the summer months.
