The Role


As the Director of Sales, Robotic Systems and Automation at Goddard Technologies, you will lead business development and sales growth within the robotics, automation, and intelligent systems sectors. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and driving revenue across Goddard’s robotic systems and automation programs.


This role requires a commercially driven leader with a strong technical understanding of robotics systems and automation, proven experience in B2B sales, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, project management, marketing, and finance functions to deliver scalable business growth. You will play a key role in shaping Goddard’s market position as a premier partner for intelligent system development and integration.


Core Responsibilities:


Business Growth & Client Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand Goddard’s presence in robotics, automation, and intelligent systems.
  • Drive pipeline creation, manage the full sales lifecycle, and close new business to meet revenue and growth targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and decision-makers to drive long-term business growth.
  • Own the process of identifying, engaging, and landing new clients across target markets including robotics, OEMs, automation integrators, and smart systems developers.
  • Lead high-impact presentations and negotiations that position Goddard’s technical capabilities and value proposition.
  • Partner with Marketing and executive leadership to refine go-to-market strategy, pricing, and market positioning.
  • Oversee pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting to ensure predictable, data-driven growth.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration.
  • Partner with Account Managers, project management, and engineering teams to ensure exceptional client experiences and smooth project transitions.
  • Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and controls disciplines to ensure technical accuracy and client confidence.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, resource forecasting, and company wide growth initiatives as part of the leadership team.
  • Uphold professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all business dealings.

Experience & Skills:

  • 8 years of sales or business development experience in a B2B technical environment, preferably within industrial automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding annual revenue targets.
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and complex, multi-stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and marketing teams.
  • Strong understanding of robotics systems, automation technologies and integration processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and proposal writing skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales tracking platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze trends and translate insights into action.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 40% for client meetings, events, and industry conferences.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field required.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or related field preferred.

  • Meet or exceed annual sales revenue and margin targets.
  • Build a robust and balanced pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and repeat engagement.
  • Strengthen Goddard’s presence in the robotics and automation markets through trusted partnerships and thought leadership.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary Range: $140,000 -$160,000 annually
  • OTE Range: $200,000 - $230,000 annually (includes expected base salary and commission earnings at 100% of target)

The compensation range provided is a good-faith estimate of the range the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.

The pay range for this role is:

Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
