About the Role
As a Residential HVAC Service Technician, you'll diagnose, service, maintain, and repair residential heating and cooling equipment while delivering an outstanding customer experience. You'll travel to homeowners throughout the Indianapolis area, identify system issues, perform repairs, complete preventative maintenance, and provide honest recommendations that help customers make informed decisions about their comfort systems.
This position offers a variety of service work while allowing you to continue expanding your technical knowledge through ongoing training and real-world experience.
What You'll Do
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, thermostats, humidifiers, air purification systems, and other indoor air quality products. Perform seasonal maintenance and preventative service to improve equipment efficiency and reliability while identifying potential issues before they become major repairs.
Troubleshoot electrical, airflow, refrigeration, and mechanical problems using industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines. Clearly explain findings and repair options to homeowners while helping them understand the condition of their equipment and available solutions.
Complete accurate service documentation using company technology, maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, follow company safety standards, and represent Godby Heating Plumbing Electrical with professionalism on every service call.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking experienced residential HVAC professionals with at least two years of service experience diagnosing and repairing residential heating and cooling equipment.
Candidates should have strong troubleshooting abilities and a solid understanding of refrigeration systems, electrical components, airflow, controls, and residential HVAC operation. Experience servicing furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, and indoor air quality equipment is preferred.
Successful candidates are dependable, customer-focused, organized, and capable of working independently while managing multiple service calls throughout the day. Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential.
A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. EPA Certification, experience with high-efficiency equipment, heat pumps, smart thermostats, and manufacturer certifications are all considered valuable assets.
