Position Summary:
The Donor Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in advancing the mission of the Food Bank by assisting with data entry and fundraising events. This position is responsible for building relationships with donors through strategic research, capacity building support, donor gift issues, gift entry, batch reporting, stewardship support, and events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Entry
- Performs donation and relationship entry for financial and in-kind gifts through the batch process into Raiser’s Edge (CRM software).
- Assures the accurate recording of individual donations, grants, bequests, pledges, stock donations, sponsorships, etc.
- Performs Prospect Research.
- Properly acknowledge all donor contributions in compliance with practices and policies set by the Food Bank and required by law.
- Manages in-house bulk and first-class mailings for the Development Team.
Events and Sponsorships
- Assist with sponsorship requests for events, working with the Development Team to establish sponsorship levels.
- Represent God’s Pantry Food Bank professionally, cultivating strong relationships with partners, event sponsors and attendees, vendors, agencies, volunteers, and the community to support the Food Bank’s mission and fundraising goals.
- Attend community and social events to network and solicit sponsorships and potential partners for God's Pantry Food Bank, as necessary.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to implement and manage the Food Bank’s Faith-Based Partnership Program, with a focus on expanding the program and cultivating existing relationships.
- Assist with signature events (Chili Wars, Taste of the Bluegrass, and Basket Brigade) in collaboration with the Development Team, internal departments, and external partners.
- Collaborate with fellow Event Coordinator to recruit and obtain silent and live auction items to boost fundraising revenue at the fundraising events.
Education and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Direct data entry experience required.
· Confidentiality and outstanding customer service.
· Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Raiser’s Edge, etc.)
· Excellent writing and communication skills.
· High attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
· Ability to be flexible and adapt to the ever-changing fundraising landscape.
· Strong commitment to the mission of God’s Pantry Food Bank.
