Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and dependable Driver to join our logistics team! In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight, including refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials, and various cargo types across designated routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route planning with GPS navigation, and adherence to federal and state regulations will ensure timely deliveries and exceptional service. Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and deliver freight to various locations while adhering to safety protocols for truck loading and unloading.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and inspection reports in line with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and tractor-trailers.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazmat transportation preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance standards.
- Experience with manual transmission trucks is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to handle logistics cargo handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Prior experience in over-the-road (OTR) driving routes involving long-distance deliveries preferred.
