What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gardener position at GO Native Landscaping for Birds and Butterflies?
Overview:

Position is for a part-time independent contractor, instead of an employee (re. IRS definitions). Experience with gardening preferred, but not required. Training in the care and maintenance of native plant pollinator gardens will regularly occur on-site, and sightings of both rare and common support butterflies, bees, and birds attracted to gardens will regularly occur.
Installation and maintenance of native pollinator gardens work will occur at three nearby client properties and at the gardens of our own home. Duties include weeding, mulching, trimming, potting plants, carrying potted plants to job sites, and planting of butterfly and pollinator gardens, plus some mowing around the beds of our home gardens. All tools and equipment will be provided. Flexible hours for most projects; exact schedule will be decided upon hiring. Duties:
- Perform general garden maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, weeding, trimming, sowing seed, and watering
- Use trowel, shovels, loppers, clippers, and other tools to maintain and groom gardens and occasionally an electric lawnmower and an electric edger
- Assist with the installation of new plants and landscaping features
- Assist with transporting potted plants to new garden and pocket prairie sites to implement garden design plans
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in gardening or landscaping preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in garden maintenance preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management skills
