Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for toddlers
- Foster a warm, welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration, independence, and positive interactions among children
- Monitor and ensure the safety of all children in your care by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
- Engage children in activities that support early childhood education principles, including play-based learning, arts and crafts, storytime, and sensory experiences
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and daily activities while communicating effectively with parents or guardians about their child's development
- Manage classroom behavior through positive guidance strategies that promote good behavior and social skills
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to plan classroom activities, organize materials, and ensure a smooth daily routine
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with young children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or nannying is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development milestones and best practices in early childhood education
- Certification in first aid and CPR
- Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching toddlers
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and colleagues
- Must be able to pass a fingerprinted background check
