Duties
- Coordinate and assign freight deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to ensure on-time pickups and drop-offs.
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms to track shipments, update statuses, and generate reports.
- Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation, scheduling, and coordination with 3PL providers for seamless logistics operations.
- Manage fleet movements using fleet management software to ensure vehicle availability and maintenance schedules are adhered to.
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain and logistics workflows.
Experience
- Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment.
- Strong familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of GPS, GIS mapping tools, and route optimization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data entry, analysis skills, and managing freight documentation.
- Experience working with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management software, and 3PL coordination is preferred.
