Role Description Looking for a Senior AME (ideally HIMS) to join the time and help see patients when Dr Jedick is traveling or has to deploy wish his ANG Squadron.
This is a part-time, on-site Aviation Medical Examiner role based in Salt Lake City, UT. The Aviation Medical Examiner will conduct FAA flight physicals and other aeromedical evaluations, including detailed medical history reviews and focused physical examinations for pilots and aviation personnel. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing fitness for flight duties, interpreting diagnostic and laboratory results, and documenting findings in accordance with FAA and clinic protocols. The role also involves coordinating with clinic staff, contributing to case discussions for complex medical and mental health presentations, and providing clear guidance to pilots regarding certification status and any required follow-up care. The Aviation Medical Examiner will uphold aviation safety standards while maintaining a professional, supportive experience for every patient.
Qualifications
- Already designated as Senior Aviation Medicine Examiner, ideally HIMS (but not required)
- Lives in Salt Lake City, Utah or willing to relocate.
- Strong foundation in Aviation Medicine, ideal candidates have previous military or flight surgeon experience. Occupational medicine experience is also helpful.
- Current UT medical license in good standing or actively acquiring state license.
- Knowledge of FAA medical certification standards, aviation safety principles, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain medical decisions clearly to pilots and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- High attention to detail, integrity in documentation, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical practice.
