What are the responsibilities and job description for the Destination Services Consultant position at GO Destination Services?
GO Destinations is a corporate relocation company headquartered in Carmel, Indiana. We work with companies around the world that relocate employees to new cities for work. Our network of local consultants provides on-the-ground support to help relocating employees and their families settle into their new communities. Services can include area orientations, rental home finding, school guidance, and other local settling-in assistance.
About the Role
GO Destinations is seeking knowledgeable, personable, and service-oriented Destination Service Consultants (DSCs) to support individuals and families relocating to new communities. As a Destination Service Consultant, you will serve as a local resource and trusted guide for relocating employees and their families. You will help them become familiar with their new community, identify suitable housing, navigate local services, and feel more comfortable as they transition into their new area. This is an independent contractor, as-needed opportunity. Assignments vary based on client relocation activity in your area, and you may be contacted when a relocation requiring your local expertise becomes available. A real estate license is not required. However, knowledge of the local rental market, neighborhoods, housing options, schools, transportation, and community resources is highly preferred.
What You May Assist With
Depending on the needs of each relocation, services may include:
Rental Home Finding
- Assist relocating employees with identifying rental properties that meet their needs, preferences, and budget.
- Research available rental properties and provide relevant housing options.
- Coordinate and/or accompany property tours and showings when appropriate.
- Share knowledge of local neighborhoods, commute times, amenities, and community characteristics.
- Help the relocating employee understand the local rental process and connect with appropriate leasing contacts.
- Provide local insight regarding rental market conditions, availability, and typical requirements.
Area Orientation
- Introduce the relocating employee and family to their new community.
- Provide an overview of neighborhoods, shopping, dining, recreation, transportation, healthcare, and other local resources.
- Help clients understand the practical aspects of living in their new area.
Settling-In Assistance
- Assist with navigating local services and community resources.
- Provide guidance regarding items such as driver's license/DMV services, Social Security appointments, banking, utilities, and other settling-in needs.
- Accompany or provide logistical support during appointments when authorized.
School & Family Support
- Help relocating families become familiar with local school options and educational resources.
- Provide information about neighborhoods and communities that may align with the family's school preferences.
- Assist with school research and tours when requested.
Additional Destination Services
- Property inspections and condition reports.
- Meet-and-greets and corporate housing walk-throughs.
- Departure assistance.
- Other relocation-related services based on the needs of the client.

- Can confidently interact with relocating employees, leasing offices, property managers, schools, and other local resources.
- Has the ability to research and identify resources based on an individual's specific needs.
- Is comfortable driving throughout the local service area when assignments require it.
- Can work independently while maintaining communication with the GO team.
- Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and genuine care for the people they are assisting.

How the Process Works
DSCs are independent contractors and are contacted when relocation assignments become available in their area. Before accepting an assignment, GO provides the consultant with the available service details, expectations, timeframe, and compensation. Consultants can review the assignment and confirm their availability before moving forward. Once an assignment is accepted, the DSC works directly with the GO Program Manager assigned to the relocation. The Program Manager provides the consultant with the specific requirements and serves as the primary point of contact throughout the assignment.
Why Become a GO Destination Service Consultant?
This opportunity is a great fit for professionals who enjoy working with people, exploring their community, and using their local knowledge to make someone's relocation experience easier. DSCs have the opportunity to:
- Earn additional income through relocation assignments.
- Work on an as-needed, flexible basis.
- Utilize their existing professional and local expertise.
- Build experience in the corporate relocation industry.
- Expand their professional network.
- Help individuals and families successfully transition into a new community.
