Production Planner

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prioritize and Scheduling of Production Orders
• Schedule Production Orders based on a daily / weekly basis across all production departments
• Ensure WOs are started in a timely manner
• Work with Department Managers to ensure WO start time stay as accurate as possible
• Correct / Adjust ERP when work schedules change
• Ensure Work Orders are completed and closed in a timely manner prior to shipment
• Resolve Work Order Problems
• Ensure issues with Production orders are being addressed ASAP to achieve expected production flow
• Ensure issues all employee clock in/out of work orders daily address any issues immediately
• Elevate problems or priority conflicts to Materials Manager as necessary to achieve expected production flow
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional workspace
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in production planning, including developing and managing schedules and utilizing planning software.
• MRP and ERP Systems: Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize production.
• Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to proactively identify and resolve production issues and disruptions.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders.
• Organizational and Time Management Skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the steel industry, including materials, processes, and supply chain dynamics, preferred, but not required.
