Operations Manager — Big Accessories
About the Role
Big Accessories is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Operations Manager to oversee the full operational lifecycle of the company business that includes planning and managing inventory, executing management strategy for all large customers and order management. Role available due to employee retiring after 25 years,
Key Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Management
• Oversee day‑to‑day inventory planning to ensure on‑time delivery of goods from foreign and domestic vendors.
• Monitor inventory performance and proactively address delays, shortages, and quality concerns.
- Report and communicate with company management.
Logistics & Distribution Management
• Manage inbound Inventory including freight costs, customs brokers, warehousing, and transportation.
• Work closely with 3PL partners to ensure accurate receiving, storage, and outbound shipping of inventory.
• Optimize logistics workflows to reduce cost and improve service reliability.
Distributor Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for our large customers.
• Ensure alignment with distributor processes, service levels, vendor routing guides, and operational requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve order, shipping, or system-related issues in partnership with distributors.
Inventory & Order Management
• Oversee inventory levels, stock replenishment, and SKU planning to minimize stockouts and overstock.
• Manage demand forecasting and inventory accuracy across all warehouse locations.
• Responsible for order management processes to ensure timely, accurate fulfillment and seamless customer experience.
Systems & Data
• Use and support EASI, EDI, ERP, and related systems for order flow, inventory visibility, and operational reporting.
• Maintain data integrity across systems and troubleshoot issues that affect order accuracy or inventory synchronization.
• Develop and monitor KPIs related to production, logistics, inventory, and fulfillment.
Required Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in operations, supply chain, production, logistics, or inventory management—preferably in apparel, accessories, distribution, or consumer goods.
• Hands-on experience with EASI, EDI, or similar order‑processing and integration systems.
• Strong understanding of import logistics, freight, customs, and vendor management.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and make fact‑based decisions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional and external partner collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with promotional product distributors, 3PLs, or large retail distribution partners.
• Familiarity with forecasting tools, ERP platforms, and inventory planning software including MS Great Plains
• Experience optimizing operational workflows and implementing process improvements.
Work Environment
• Full-time role
• Petaluma based - Hybrid/on-site depending on organizational needs
• Occasional domestic or international travel to suppliers, warehouses, or distributors
