Location: Field-Based; travel throughout the assigned service area is required

Position Summary

GMEC is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Field Service Technician to support customers at their workplaces and facilities. This position is responsible for inspecting, servicing, restocking, and documenting first-aid cabinets, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and other workplace safety equipment.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, comfortable working independently, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. The technician will travel to customer locations, complete scheduled service visits, identify expired or depleted supplies, maintain accurate records, and communicate service needs and recommendations to customers and GMEC leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations and complete scheduled service visits safely and on time.
  • Inspect, clean, organize, and restock first-aid cabinets based on customer needs and established service standards.
  • Inspect AED units and verify that batteries, electrode pads, readiness indicators, accessories, signage, and documentation are current and serviceable.
  • Replace expired, damaged, used, or missing supplies and equipment as authorized.
  • Perform routine checks of other safety equipment and supplies offered through the Safety Division.
  • Document all inspections, inventory used, expiration dates, equipment condition, customer approvals, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper service records and submit completed documentation promptly.
  • Notify customers and management of expired products, damaged equipment, safety concerns, or items requiring repair or replacement.
  • Educate customer representatives on basic equipment readiness, inspection requirements, and service schedules.
  • Provide professional, courteous customer service and develop positive working relationships at each account.
  • Identify additional customer needs and communicate potential service opportunities to the appropriate GMEC team member.
  • Maintain an organized service vehicle and ensure adequate inventory of commonly used products and supplies.
  • Secure and properly maintain the assigned company vehicle, including keeping it clean, reporting damage or mechanical concerns promptly, and ensuring it is locked and secured when unattended.
  • Refuel the company vehicle at the end of each shift whenever the fuel level is, or would otherwise be, below one-half tank so it is ready for the next shift.
  • Track assigned inventory and protect company equipment, products, keys, records, and customer information.
  • Follow manufacturer instructions, company procedures, customer-site rules, and all applicable workplace safety requirements.
  • Assist with equipment deliveries, installations, special projects, and emergency service requests as assigned.
  • Participate in required training, team meetings, inventory counts, and performance reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing customer accounts.
  • Support account growth by identifying opportunities to increase recurring monthly revenue and product/service flow.
  • Recommend additional equipment, supplies, services, or recurring programs when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area and work at multiple customer locations.
  • Strong attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, follow a service schedule, and communicate changes or delays promptly.
  • Basic computer and mobile-device skills, including email, electronic forms, and service-tracking applications.
  • Professional appearance and strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read product labels, expiration dates, equipment instructions, and service documentation accurately.
  • Ability to pass any job-related background check, motor-vehicle-record review, or drug screening required by company policy or customer contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous field service, delivery, inventory, facilities, healthcare, workplace safety, or customer-service experience.
  • An EMS background or previous EMS experience is a plus but is not required.
  • Familiarity with AEDs, first-aid products, OSHA-related workplace safety practices, or emergency-response equipment.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Experience managing inventory or completing inspections using a mobile application.

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, and work from a kneeling or crouched position during service visits.
  • Ability to load, unload, transport, and organize products and equipment.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods and work in offices, warehouses, industrial facilities, schools, healthcare settings, and other customer environments.
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on customer needs.
