Account Growth & Management
- Manage and grow assigned government and public sector accounts, state agencies, and municipal organizations
- Identify new opportunities within existing accounts and expand product penetration across MRO and safety supply categories
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of transactional and recurring supply opportunities
- Work within government procurement frameworks including GSA schedules, TAA compliance, SLED/SLEA environments, and federal contracting requirements
- Understand and support purchasing workflows such as purchase orders, credit card (GPC) buying, and bid-based procurement processes
- Ensure compliance with all applicable government purchasing and contract regulations
- Execute pricing, quoting, and order management in alignment with company guidelines
- Use a structured sales process to identify needs, overcome objections, and close opportunities efficiently
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and account activity tracking
- Represent Columbia Safety and Supply at relevant industry or government-related events when applicable
- 2–4 years of experience in industrial distribution, MRO sales, government contracting, or transactional outside sales
- Familiarity with government procurement processes (GSA, TAA compliance, SLED, or military base purchasing systems)
- Experience working with or selling into public sector accounts (federal, state, local, or military)
- Knowledge of safety supply, PPE, MRO, or industrial consumables
- Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management tools
