Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support the launch and ongoing operation of our new automotive manufacturing facility in Opelika, Alabama. This position plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining world-class quality systems while supporting new product launches, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will work closely with GMB Korea, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and automotive customers to ensure product quality and manufacturing excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead investigations of customer complaints and internal quality issues
- Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze quality data and recommend improvements.
- Support supplier quality activities and incoming inspection.
- Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Support engineering changes, process validations, and production readiness.
- Develop work instructions and inspection standards.
- Train production associates on quality requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plan.
- Experience preparing reports and conducting root cause analysis.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive industry experience.
- Experience working with OEM customers.
- Experience with electric water pumps, oil pumps, thermal management systems, or EV components.
- Korean language skills preferred but not required.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required for customer visits, supplier audits, training, and collaboration with GMB Korea.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
