Quality Engineering Summer Intern

Job Summary: GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern to support inspection and measurement activities for our Formula 1 power unit components. This internship offers hands-on experience in high-precision manufacturing and quality processes while working alongside experienced engineers to ensure components meet tight specifications and FIA regulations.

Date of Internship: Summer 2026

Job Location: On-Site at GM Performance Power Units, 4540 Fortune Drive NW, Concord, NC 28027

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with day to day quality operations along with special projects
• Conduct inspections and measurements of precision components under supervision.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support root cause investigations and process improvements.
• Help maintain the metrology lab, including equipment calibration and organization.
• Support creation of measurement documentation, control plans, and quality records.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to learn quality processes and ensure compliance with standards.
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Interest in quality assurance, metrology, or manufacturing processes.
• Basic familiarity with CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
• Coursework involving precision measurement
